The rotating electric machine comprises a stator (10) and a rotor which carries magnets, the stator carrying at least one electrical winding. The stator (10) is formed of two hollow half stators (11) fitted together. The stator (10) includes at least one radial channel (12) receiving a magnetic piece (13). The winding surrounds this channel. The stator (10) is formed of two hollow half stators (11) fitted together.
