A transdermal drug delivery patch comprises: (a) a non-steroidal antiinflammatory agent; (b) an alkyl-pyrrolidone; (c) hydrophilic polyethylene glycol; (d) a hydrophilic nonionic surfactant; (e) a water-soluble carboxylated polymer; (f) a water-soluble vinyl polymer; (g) a water-insoluble polyvalent metal salt; (h) a polyol; (i) an organic hydroxyacid; and (j) water. A transdermal drug delivery patch comprises (wt.%): (a) a non-steroidal antiinflammatory agent (0.1-1.0); (b) an alkyl-pyrrolidone (0.5-10); (c) hydrophilic polyethylene glycol (1-15); (d) a hydrophilic nonionic surfactant (0.01-3); (e) a water-soluble carboxylated polymer (2-15); (f) a water-soluble vinyl polymer (0.1-10); (g) a water-insoluble polyvalent metal salt (0.01-10); (h) a polyol (4-40); (i) an organic hydroxyacid; and (j) water.
