PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an onboard object detecting device capable of preventing any erroneous detection at a part where a repeated pattern that the same pattern frequently appears such as a zebra crossing exists in an object detecting device using stereoscopic image processing. SOLUTION: In an image processing using a stereoscopic camera 2, in calculating the corresponding positions of stereoscopic pictures, based on the similarity of stereoscopic pictures in each small area, whether or not a position indicating a value close to the maximum similarity frequently appears is confirmed, and when the value close to the maximum similarity frequently appears, it is determined that a distance calculated in the small area has the high possibility of countermeasures to any error due to a repeated pattern, and it is not used for the determination of object detection and measurement. Thus, it is possible to prevent the erroneous detection of an object generated due to the erroneous countermeasures of stereoscopic matching resulted from the repeated pattern such as the stripe pattern of a zebra crossing. |
