PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To maintain stable printing quality by correcting the positioning of a detector with respect to a part to be detected to an optimum position even when the detector is not correctly mounted on a printing device or the detector is correctly mounted but the relative position of the detector to the part to be detected is deviated because of the secular wear or the deterioration of a device driving system. SOLUTION: This detecting device is equipped with a position correction means for positioning the detector (27a) at the position of a measured peak value according to movement by moving the detector (27a) by a previously set range after a position detection means (27g) detects that the detector (27a) reaches a 1st position from a 2nd position.
