PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a connector having a wire holding part, capable of holding a wire with a sufficient orthogonal holding force, regardless of the material of the resin from which a cover part is made. SOLUTION: A size c of a clearance, between the ends of second wire retaining pieces 23 facing each other between wire-holding pieces 21, is set at half or smeller than a diameter r of a core wire part 14 make loosening of the wire 12 between the wire holding pieces 21 less likely to occur and to increase the orthogonal holding force. The width of the second wire retaining piece 23 is made smaller than the width of the first wire retaining piece 22, to facilitate elastic deformation for facilitating mounting of the wire 12 between the wire-holding pieces 21.
