PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fender of excellent installation workability, reliability, durability and economy. SOLUTION: This fender comprises a cushioning material for absorbing the docking energy of a ship, a front buffer plate 3 for reducing the bearing pressure when the ship is docked on the ship docking side of the cushioning material, and a pad 4 mounted on the front buffer plate 3. In this fender, the force generated when the ship is docked is not loaded on a mounting means of the pad 4 by providing a shift preventing means between the front buffer plate 3 and the pad in addition to the pad 4 mounting means.
