PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-quality grating laid as a metallic square grid body on the upper end of a U-shaped groove body 10 and eliminating the generation of 'play' relative to the groove body 10. SOLUTION: The structure of the grating 1 is characterized as follows: a grating body 9 is the grid body provided with right and left side plates 4 in both end potions of a bearing bar 2 juxtaposed at prescribed intervals in such a manner as to take the belt-width direction of a metallic belt member as a lengthwise one; and a grating width adjusting plate 8 for accommodating variations in the molding dimension B2 of the grid body is continuously and integrally affixed to the external surfaces of the side plates 4 of the grating body 9 in the longitudinal direction of the side plates 4 for the purpose of performing regulated forming to keep the grating width B1 between the outsides of the plate 8 uniform and constant.
