PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a highly stretchable polyester-based conjugate yarn having excellent stretchability, grade and fiber-making property by using PTT as a high-viscosity component, forming a side-by-side conjugate yarn, selecting a molecular weight and a content of a polyether as one component for a finishing agent, providing the conjugate yarn with a proper amount of the finishing agent and taking up the conjugate yarn in a proper relax ratio. SOLUTION: This method for producing the polyester-based conjugate yarn is characterized in that a conjugate yarn comprising at least a high-viscosity component being PTT is spun, cooled, provided with 0.5-2.5 wt.% of the finishing agent containing 0.7-30 wt.% of the polyether having 2,000-10,000 molecular weight, drawn and taken up in 2-10% relax ratio.
