PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain both a polyester composite yarn having excellent color development and fastness to dyeing, swelling, smooth surface, improved stretchability and repulsion and a fabric using the same. SOLUTION: This polyester composite yarn is characterized in that the composite yarn comprises at least a yarn K1 of a polyester yarn having >=3,500 twist coefficient (F1) of first twist, <=0.35 degree of orientation in amorphous state, <=4,000 N/mm2 apparent Young's modulus, 0.04-1.4 X/Y value in a stress- strain curve and 0.15-2.2β-αvalue and a yarn K2 being at least one kind selected from a wool yarn, a cotton yarn, a rayon yarn, an acetate yarn and a yarn made from hemp having <=21,000 twist coefficient (F2) of first twist, is a twisted union yarn obtained by joining and twisting the yarn K1 and the yarn K2 in 2,000-32,000 twist coefficient (F3) of second twist and has a sheath- core structural yarn composed of the yarn K1 (core)/the yarn K2 (sheath).
