PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication terminal by which a user can conduct short distance wireless communication connection to an unspecified external device located in the vicinity of the user and can easily recognize the presence of other device approaching the communication terminal within the connectable range. SOLUTION: The communication terminal is provided with a wireless communication means that can make short distance wireless communication connection to an unspecified external device located in the vicinity of the terminal and can execute communication with the connected external device, with a notification means that informs the user about the detection of a connected device by means of the audible or tactile sense of the user and with a control means that allows the wireless communication means to execute the detection of a connectable external device and allows the notification means to execute the notice of the connected device detection when the wireless communication means detects the external device being a connection object. That is, the notification means notifies the user of the detection of the external device that is to be a connection object even when the user does not see the display section by means of notification such as generation of sound or generation of a ring tone or vibration other than display indication.
