PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a position detecting apparatus with high reliability in which a chattering does not occur under a vibrating environment. SOLUTION: Contact terminals 23 and 25 are fixed to a predetermined position of a case 11. A plate 21 is formed in a piston 14 moving in the vertical direction in the figure. It is detected that the piston 14 is in the predetermined position by detecting that the plate 21 is contacted with the contact terminal 23 or the contact terminal 25. The contact terminals 23 and 25 are equipped with two or more terminal parts to be directly contacted with the plate 21. Each terminal part is made to differ in the individual frequency. The individual frequency can be set at a desired value based on the length of the terminal parts, etc. Since individual frequencies differ mutually, not all terminal parts being used in the vibrating environment produce resonance simultaneously, and the contact to the plate 21 is kept certainly.
