PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plastic optical fiber with a lens part, at the end of which is formed with the lens part having a high ray control effect, such as beam-condensing effect, into a shape having a projection from its end face to a lesser extent. SOLUTION: The plastic optical fiber 1 with the lens part has a recessed structure 2 at its end face. A refractive index matching material, having a refractive index different from the refractive index of the plastic optical fiber 1, is packed into the recessed structure 2, by which the lens part having the ray control effect, such as beam-condensing effect, is formed. The plastic optical fiber with the recessed structure 2, where a plane segment exists in the peripheral part of end face, may be used as is. |
