PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotor for a rotary electric machine reducing deflection generated at rotation time. SOLUTION: This rotor includes a plurality of slots 15 formed in a body 13, a field winding 17 received in the slot, a creepage block 19, a wedge 21, etc. The creepage block 19 consists of fiber reinforced resin. A fiber layer 37 most adjacent to a contact surface of the creepage block 19 with the field winding 17 is woven by a first fiber 33a arranged in a direction almost along axially the rotor 1, and a second reinforced fiber 33b arranged in a direction crossing with this first reinforced fiber 33a. Density of the first reinforced fiber 33a is set higher than density of the second reinforced fiber 33b. In this way, a slip is always generated between the field winding 17 and the creepage block 19, and additionally a change of dispersion width in a coefficient of friction between each slot can be made difficult. Accordingly, deflection of the rotor 1 at rotation time can be reduced.
