PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication system and its control method, that can receive a fax or the like, without any nonconformities, even when power is interrupted at nights or on holidays or the like and print out received information at a designated time by a user. SOLUTION: The communication system, where one channel interface is selectively connected to a main device or a communication management device, is provided with a power on/off detection means, that detects whether the power supply of the main device is turned on or off, an agent reception means that receives data from a channel on behalf of the communication management unit and with a transfer means, that transfers the data received on behalf of the communication management unit to the main device.
