Chimeric transcription factor (I) comprises a fusion protein of domain I (A), i.e. a subunit of a Pol III transcription factor, and domain II (B), i.e. a DNA-binding peptide domain, and where at least one domain is a conditional mutant. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) nucleic acid (II that encodes (I); (2) recombinant vector comprising (II); (3) yeast cell (III) transformed with (II); (4) method (M1) for detecting interactions between two peptides, or peptide domains; (5) kit for performing (M); and (6) method M2) for selecting interaction partners with a selected peptide (or domain).
