PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such problems that the luminance is hardly stabilized in a conventional device because of fluctuation in the inverter transformers although the luminance in the display screen of a liquid crystal display device is required to be within a prescribed range (standard). SOLUTION: A plurality of cold cathode fluorescent lamps illuminating a liquid crystal panel are driven by using one inverter transformer. Thereby, the power supply for driving all of the cold cathode fluorescent lamps is made constant, so that the luminance can be easily stabilized in the liquid crystal display device.
