PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To acquire latest information related to a document at all the time without necessity to perform the maintenance of link. SOLUTION: In this document managing system, the latest related information of the document can be acquired by storing the condition of relating between documents for the unit of document and for the unit of user. When a related information button is clicked on the retrieval picture of related information on a system terminal, for example, the relating condition is extracted by performing retrieval with the document number of the original document as a key while using a relating condition table shown in the figure, and the related document is retrieved according to that condition. Besides, a table is held for storing the condition of relating between documents for each of other individual users and the system recognizes the user under accessing so that the related document can be retrieved for each user by specifying a user number.
