A solid, low calorie, palatable, fiber-containing table sugar substitute for use on cereals, fruits, in hot or iced beverages and in the preparation of baked foods and other prepared solid and semi-solid comestibles. The table sugar substitute comprises a mixture of insulin and a high intensity sweetener, such as sucralose, where the insulin and high intensity sweetener are present in a proportion such that, on a volume: volume basis, the table sugar substitute provides the same sweetness as sucrose. The bulk density of the product is between 0.3g/ml to 0.8g/ml.
