PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To retrieve an image in an image database on the basis of the print of the image. SOLUTION: A first electronic image expressing the print of an image desired to retrieve is prepared. The first electronic image is compared with plural electronic images in the image database and at least one most proximate and matched second image is found out.
