PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that a temperature detected by a temperature detecting means varies according to a position where an object of cooking is set in a box type cooking chamber and consequently a grilled state of the object differs each time. SOLUTION: This heating and cooking appliance is provided with the cooking chamber 3, an electric heater 1 heating the object of cooking in the cooking chamber, a plurality of temperature detecting means 4a, 4b which measure the temperature in the cooking chamber and are disposed at positions where the temperature is almost the same in a condition of idle grilling and a control means 2a which controls energization of the electric heater in conformity with an output of the temperature detecting means showing the lowest detected temperature, out of the temperature detecting means in a plurality. Accordingly, a constantly stable grilled state can be attained, irrespective of the position where the object of cooking is set.
