PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a treatment method for providing a battery separator with high capacity retaining performance by washing away a residual sulfuric radical in the separator in manufacture of the battery separator based on sulfonation. SOLUTION: In an alkaline battery separator manufacturing method, a sheet containing fiber made of a polyolefine group resin is introduced into a sulfuric acid bath 4 for sulfonation, and then, conveyed into a rinsing bath 14 for washing with water. Subsequently, the sulfuric radical remaining in the treated sheet is washed away by ultrasonic waves 16, and consequently, the alkaline battery separator with high capacity retaining performance is provided. |
