PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control method of a generating set and a control device of the generating set capable of easily switching speed control and generator output control. SOLUTION: In a state of transmitting a governor valve opening command outputted by a speed controller (a speed control means) 31 to a governor valve 2, a generator output setting signal S2 is matched with actual generator output S1, and a generator output controller (a generator output control means) is set so as to output a value matched with the governor valve opening command outputted from the speed controller 31 in response to the generator output setting signal S2.
