PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To correctly perform the positioning of a position having desired data recorded. SOLUTION: When recording time sequential data groups, such as video and music data, on a disk array part 30 capable of random access, file management information which shows the relation of a plurality of time-ordered data groups from a time code of the time-ordered data group is prepared by a file unit and is stored in an SRAM 405 of an operation management part 40. When a reproduction position is instructed by the time code, this position is converted into a relative position from a file head by using the file management information. The position instructed by this time code can be positioned correctly, and reproduction of data can be performed from the desired position, even when the time code of the time-ordered data group set as one file is discontinuous, by reading the data from the disk array part 30 on the basis of the relative position from this file head.
