PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To correctly arrange a regenerator between a cylindrical part of a case and a cylinder in a Stirling cycle engine. SOLUTION: An almost short cylindrical protective body 26 is arranged for covering the outer periphery of the regenerator 10. An O ring 28 being a seal member is arranged on the outer peripheral side of the protective body 26. An outside projection 24 is formed on the tip side outer periphery of the cylinder 7. When successively incorporated by inserting the regenerator 10 into the cylindrical part 2, the outer periphery of the regenerator 10 is protected by the protective body 26, and the outer periphery is not turned up. The O ring 28 contacts with an inside surface of the case 1, and can be sealed and incorporated. The tip side of the outside projection 24 is inserted up to a position for abutting to an endothermic fin 12, and the endothermic fin 12 does not abut to an end part of the regenerator 10 so that collapse of the end part of the regenerator 10 is prevented.
