PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photographic film carrying device, that can enhance film insertion job at interrupt processings by preventing interference of an automatic film loader(AFL) on the photographic film insertion job from the outside of the film-carrying device to a read carrying path at the interrupt processing. SOLUTION: An AFL unit 70 is supported slidably on the body of an image input device 12 and respectively movable to take an operation position, where a film feed path is connected to the read carrying path in a film carrier 46 or to take a retreating position in the lateral direction where the film feed path breaks away from the read carrying pat of the film carrier 46 and one end of a film feed port (film supply port) is made open to the outside of the photographic film carrying device. When the AFL unit 70 is moved to the retreating position, a control circuit interrupts the AFL unit 70 to supply a photographic film 26 to the read carrying path and carries the interruption of the photographic film 26 inserted into the read carrying path through the film supply port from the outside of the photographic film carrying device to pass through a read position R, by carrying roller pairs 56, 58, 60.
