PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem that a conventional mobile radio communication unit has somewhat lacked stability in its upright posture because the stand has been configured to be extracted from the inside of the communication unit main body resulting in the limited width of the stand that is rather smaller than the width (thickness) of the small-sized communication unit main body. SOLUTION: Fixed lock of a battery pack 13 by a battery pack stopper 14 is released in other state of the mobile radio communication unit than the carrying state and when a user uses the communication unit, so as to open the battery pack 13 around a side face opposed to mount side of an antenna 12. Thus, the mobile radio communication unit 10 can be vertically self-stood by the bottom of the phone main body 11 and the bottom of the battery pack 13. That is, the battery pack 13 acts not only like a battery back cover but also like a support to allow the phone main body 11 to stand by itself. A support fixing section 17 keeps the spread angle of the battery pack 13 with respect to the phone main body 11. A main body power supply terminal section 15 is electrically connected to a battery pack power supply terminal section 16 even when the battery pack 13 is kept open.
