PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pilling image pickup device capable of giving such an evaluation result that has a good relation to a feeling when practically worn, by precisely observing how a state of pilling generated on a test cloth changes with the lapse of time. SOLUTION: This pilling image pickup device is composed of a line sensor camera and a cylindrical object around which the test cloth already pilled can be wound, wherein the cylindrical object can be rotated in a direction perpendicular to a sensing line, so that the test cloth is subjected to image analysis.
