PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a trench excavator capable of excavating a trench having the excellent flatness of a trench wall into a ground. SOLUTION: When underground inclinometers 11-14 are buried to the trench excavating body 8 of the trench excavator excavating the trench into the ground and a ground inclinometer 15 to a ground section, digital inclination signals obtained by converting analog inclination signals from these inclinometers 11-15 by an inclination-signal digital converter 31 and the horizontal travel signals of the trench excavator 8 from a distance recorder 21 and a stroke meter 22 are input to a computer 32, inclination data three-dimensional-processed at every horizontal travel corresponding at a sampling time previously set by the computer 32 are accumulated in the horizontal direction and the data are displayed at a real time on a monitor 32a as a trench wall shape, the trench having the excellent flatness of the trench wall can be excavated into the ground by operating the trench excavator, recognizing the trench wall shape by the monitor 32a.
