PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a connector for a flexible board, improving the strength of a cover used for connection of the flexible board, while providing satisfactory operability for connection or extraction of the flexible board. SOLUTION: The cover 4, having a pressing piece 42 for pressing the flexible board 130 or a contact 3 in an interconnecting direction, to bring them into contact with each other after insertion of the flexible board 130 into an insertion recess 22, is formed with a inserting part 45 through which the flexible board 130 is inserted the inserting part 45 being formed inside of a cover body 41, taking the form of a closed frame. The overall periphery of the inserting part 45 is surrounded by the cover body 41, to increase the strength of the cover body 41 and the periphery of the cover body 41 can be made to be gripped, whatever part it may be.
