An arrangement for burning mineral oil samples in the region up to 100 mu l and analyzing trace materials, e.g. sulfur, nitrogen and halogens, comprises a combustion tube (2) containing a filler (5) made of tungsten oxide in granulate form which can be heated to 1150-1200 deg C. Preferred Features: Several combustion tubes (2, 3, 4) are provided which are connected to drying tubes (11, 17, 18) and an adsorption/desorption tube. One tube (2) is connected to an analysis cycle for analyzing sulfur, a further tube (3) is connected to an analysis cycle for analyzing nitrogen, and a further tube (4) connected to an analysis cycle for analyzing halogens. The tubes are connected to a common heater (1). The drying tube (11) contains phosphorus pentoxide for analyzing sulfur, drying tube (17) contains phosphorus pentoxide and/or magnesium perchlorate, and drying tube (18) contains concentrated sulfuric acid. The tungsten oxide has a grain size of 0.5-3 mm.
