A method and system for viewer identification and data collection verification which ensures the identity of the viewer submission of collected data (220) regarding a broadcast. The viewer is given a unique identifier (174) which can be a personal identification number or digitized biological indicia. The unique identifier is used to positively identify a viewer and to encode (180) any data transmitted between a viewer and a survey company.
