Prevention of chromium (VI) formation during storage of tanned leather and pelts by pickling in presence of antioxidant prior to chrome tanning

A pickling step precedes chrome tanning in the production of leather and pelts from hides and/or skins, is at least partly conducted in presence of an antioxidant. An Independent claim is also included for a composition comprising an antioxidant and a dispersant for effecting the above process.
