A filter cartridge for microfiltration having a microporous filtration membrane, a membrane support, a core, a peripheral cover and an endplate which are all made of a polysulfone type polymer, characterized in that a member formed through melting by heat in the above component is subjected to an annealing treatment; and a method for manufacturing the filter cartridge. The filter cartridge is excellent in chemical resistance and filtration stability and generates no toxic gases when being burned in waste treatment, and further, when used in high temperature filtration of isopropanol and the like in a semiconductor production process and the like, is free from the occurrence of cracking in its components.
