The industrial robot (1) has electronic drive controls provided with servo amplifiers and current regulators, each of which is thermally insulated from the robot structure and provided with a passive or active cooling devices (41a,42a) for dissipation of waste heat, e.g. a ribbed heat sink attached to the robot via an intermediate thermal insulator.
