<p>An optical information recording medium having improved repetitive recording characteristics, recording power margin, and retention stability. An optical information recording medium comprises a semitransparent layer the major constituent of which is Ag, a first protective layer containing dielectric, a phase-change recording layer made of an alloy the major constituent of which is SbxTe1-x (0.7 < x </= 0.9), a second protective layer containing dielectric, and a metallic reflective layer all formed in this order. If the dielectric in the first protective layer contains sulfur, a diffusion protective layer is provided between the semitransparent layer and the first protective layer. The reflectance of the medium with respect to light incident on the semitransparent layer when the recording layer is amorphous is higher than that when the recording layer is crystalline.</p> |
