The objects (1) are transported past a blow nozzle (9) on a first conveyor belt (8), so that the nozzle blows away any objects which are lying on the belt with their raised side (4) pointing downwards, whilst objects resting on their flat side (2) are kept on the belt. A second conveyor belt (11) extends in the cross-direction of the first belt and has its lower part (12) engaging with the raised sides of the objects left on the first belt. Rolls (14, 15) on either side of the second belt are used to orient the objects into the correct position. An Independent claim is also included for the apparatus used to carry out the sorting method.
