INFORMATION SERVICES IN A WIRELESS COMMUNICATION NETWORK

An architecture for providing information to devices is described. In one embodiment, the architecture comprises a data collector (Data Collector), an information server (InfoServer), an evaluation mechanism (LocalEval), and an action handler (Action Handler). The data collector periodically obtains data from an external location (External Site). The information server provides access to the data in a domain. The evaluation mechanism determines if a change occurs in an evaluation of an expression and generates a notification. The action handler causes a message to be sent to a wireless device, via a networked based wireless communication platform in response to the notification.
