A radiation source produces radiation (12) for making holes in the object (4). which moves through an operating zone (16). The object rotates on its lengthwise axis by means of a rolling-duct (20) as it is conveyed through the operating zone. The rolling-duct consists of a belt (26) forming a rolling surface (24) and a stationary block (30) forming a counter-rolling surface (28). The rolling-belt is at least partly guided inside a conveyor-drum (6) conveying the object to and from the rolling duct.
