The beam guidance and/or formation device has an optically transparent medium receiving the laser radiation which is subjected to total internal reflection at a boundary surface of the optically transparent medium, which is in the shape of a light guidance funnel (1). The funnel wall has a maximum diameter (D) at the laser radiation input region, and the laser radiation propagates in the direction of the tapering funnel diameter.
