Lacquer composition (I) comprises a water dilutable one component polyester resin, polysiloxane, melamine resin and pigment in an aqueous solvent. Independent claims are included for: (i) a double layer system (II) prepared by application of a layer of the composition (I) onto a zinc- or zinc alloy layer or a passivated layer; (ii) a metallic work piece (III) having at least one surface coated with the double layer system (II); and (iii) a process for the production of the work piece (III) by passivation of the zinc/zinc alloy layer or passivation of the work piece by formation of a Cr(VI) free conversion coating and electrostatic spraying of the lacquer layer.
