829,543. Coloured signalling torches. PIFCO Ltd. (Cheong Shing Flashlight Factory Ltd.). March 7, 1956 [March 7, 1955], No. 6590/55. Classes 39(2) and 75(4) An electric torch has two shutters 13, 15 each comprising a spherical cap moulding of tinted transparent plastic mounted in the head of the torch on metal lugs 10, 11, 18, 19 which can turn on diametrically opposite pins 12, 20 fixed to the torch casing 1 on either side of a bulb and reflector unit carried by a bridge piece 21 across the casing. Each shutter can lie between the reflector and the torch casing or can be turned to an operative position above the reflector. The shutters are actuated by pins 6, 7 passing through slots 4, 5 in the casing 1 and carrying coloured knobs 8, 9 corresponding to the colours of the shutters e.g. red and green. The lugs 10, 11, 18, 19 are attached by bent-over tongues 14, 17. A projecting tongue 24 prevents the shutters overlapping. The pins 6, 7 have small rings (not shown), soldered to them inside the casing and project into holes in the lugs 10, 11. |
