The device has a cylindrical housing (3) into which a pivot part (5) with annular working chambers (6a,6b) is inserted. Hydraulic fluid is fed to the chambers alternately controlled by a controller, whereby first or second pivot positions are set when filling the first and second chamber respectively. The controller is an electrically activated control valve for the hydraulic fluid and is integrated into the camshaft pivoting device.
