<p>An assembly for releasably holding a movable closure member element or door in a desired position relative to a support for a vehicle. The holding assembly 20 has a first part 22 which includes a first element 30 and a first actuator 34 which can be in the form of a graspable knob. The first part being connected to a frame/support 12 and connectable a closure element 18. A second part 26 has second element 32 and a second actuator 34, which can also be in the form of a graspable knob, where the second part is connected to a closure element 18 and connectable to a frame/support element 12. At least one of the first 30 and second elements 32 is movable relative to a frame/support 12 and/or closure element 18 in order for the elements 30, 32 to act against one another in a holding position. The first or second actuators 34 are operable to move at least one of the first 30 and second elements 32 to release the closure element 18 which can moved to a desired location. The graspable knobs 34 can pivot about a first axis relative to the closure element in order to facilitate release.</p> |
