Disclosed are medicines for treating systemic lupus erythematosus and/or inflammatory bowel disease such as Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis, which comprise a growth hormone secretagogue (GHS), prodrug thereof or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt of the GHS or the prodrug. More particularly, the GHS is a compound of the Formula I: (see formula I) (in which HET is a heterocyclic moiety; R3 is alkyl, etc.; R4 is H, alkyl, etc.; X4 is H or alkyl; R6 is bond, alkylene, etc.; R7 and R8 are each H, alkyl, etc.) or a prodrug thereof or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt of the GHS or the prodrug. Also disclosed are combinations of a GHS and a second therapeutic agent, where the second therapeutic agent is known to be beneficial in the treatment of systemic lupus erythematosus and/or inflammatory bowel disease such as Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis; and kits and pharmaceutical compositions comprising such combinations.
