A cinerary urn receptacle for a vehicle is described herein. The urn receptacle comprises a footstall for supporting the urn, an anchoring assembly for securing the footstall to the vehicle, and an urn restrainer mounted to the footstall and being so configured to secure the urn to the footstall. The urn receptacle advantageously includes a protective cover mounted to the footstall for covering the urn.
