A method for heating pulp comprises pressurising the pulp to a first pressure and then introducing low pressure steam into the pulp downstream of this pressurising region, at a pressure greater than that of the pulp. A pressure-increasing blender is used to homogeneously mix the steam into the pulp and/or to even out the temperature of the pulp after the steam has been introduced into the pumped flow of pulp. The pressure generated by the blender is used to drive the pulp to the next process step.The process equipment used for this method is also claimed, comprising a pulp transport device (12) located in a pulp conveyor line (14), a low pressure steam supply device (16) and a blender (18). |
