A lens element with a radially extending tab may be hard coated on both sides thereof. Method and apparatus are disclosed for holding the lens element in a chuck. While holding the lens element in the chuck (16), successive steps are performed on the lens element including cleaning the lens element, applying a fluid hard coat to the lens element, spinning the lens element about a vertical axis (A-A), and performing a curing step at a curing station. |
