A liquid heating vessel 1, 2, 9 comprises a generally planar heating element 8 the peripheral edge of which is retained by being pressed into a mounting ring 5 which cups the element periphery with an elastomeric seal 7 interposed. A curved lip on the mounting ring 5, may overlie and contact a portion of the top of the elastomeric seal 7 and the flanges (22, fig.5) of a plurality of spring clips 6 may underlie and contact portions of the underside of the elastomeric seal 7, these features cooperating to retain the heating element 8 in place. The spring clips 6 may be secured in position by screw assemblies, which may comprise screws passing which pass through base holes 12 and spring clip holes (22 fig.5) which screws may also secure the base 2 of the vessel to the top 1. The spring clips may compress the seal 7 and the screws may be tightened to further compress the seal. The heating element may be a thick film heating element. The mounting ring may be integral with the vessel body or a separate mountable component. The elastomeric seal may be substantially cylindrical in cross section. |
