摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress decrease in the contrast or the like due to the pretilt angle in a transmission type liquid crystal projector device having a microlens to increase the aperture ratio disposed on a liquid crystal panel. SOLUTION: A uniaxially stretched phase difference film 5 is disposed between a liquid crystal panel 42 and an analyzer 47 with the film 5 tilted to the panel face. While the tilt angle is changed, the transmittance of the analyzer 47 for the emitting light from the pixels which has to display black in the liquid crystal panel 42 is measured to obtain the retardation of the uniaxially stretched phase difference film 5 in the plane parallel or perpendicular to the panel face at the determined tilt angle according to the transmittance. A viewing angle enlarging film (special biaxially stretched phase difference film) having the retardation in a plane parallel or perpendicular to the film face almost equal to the obtained retardation in a plane parallel or perpendicular to the panel face is substituted for the uniaxially stretched phase difference film 5 and disposed between the liquid crystal panel 42 and analyzer 47, being parallel to the panel face.
