HEAD SUPPORTING MECHANISM AND MAGNETIC HEAD ASSEMBLY HAVING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize an information recording device of a large capacity by constituting a head supporting mechanism of a thin type which is good in positioning accuracy. SOLUTION: The head supporting mechanism for connecting a head for recording and reproducing information and actuators for moving this head is formed with recesses made thinner in thickness than other points at one or plural points of a base material of the head supporting mechanism and vibration attenuating members 7 and/or the solid actuators are formed in the recesses. Both side parts of the head supporting mechanism are provided with flanges 8 to increase its natural frequencies. Also, the head supporting mechanism is constituted by forming the recesses made thinner in thickness than the other points on the base material of the head supporting mechanism, arranging the vibration attenuating members 7 therein and setting the height of the vibration attenuating members 7 within the height range of the flanges 8.
